Peace lily: care rules

The peace lily is an original and very popular houseplant. Attractive thickets of bright green and shiny leaves, as well as large white inflorescences. The plant is valued not only for its aesthetic qualities, but also for its useful properties. It turns out that the pteroflorum cleans the air of toxins such as benzene and formaldehyde, and substances emitted by devices. Find out how to properly care for fairlum so that its leaves do not turn yellow-brown.

Why do Peace Lily leaves turn yellow?

The peace lily is a rather delicate plant. Therefore, too intensive watering is enough for its leaves to turn yellow. A constantly wet substrate promotes the growth of fungi and causes root rot. Then the inflorescences turn brown. If new leaves do not appear after pruning old ones, most likely the plant has died. Therefore, you need to water the round shape with a small amount of water only when the substrate is dry.

Why do Peace Lily turn brown?

If the edges of the pear leaves start to turn brown, heavy watering may be the cause. Therefore, when caring for this plant, it is best to use distilled, rain or tap water left for a few or a few hours. Water for irrigation should also be at room temperature.

Another cause of leaf browning can be too intensive fertilization and, as a result, salinization of the substrate. Fertilize the peace lily with water-soluble preparations only from April to September (no more than once every two weeks).

The best place for Peace Lily

The Peace Lily will prosper if we provide it with an ideal place. The plant prefers partial shade or diffused light. In no case should you put it in the sun – the leaves quickly turn yellow and dry out. The peace lily does not tolerate drafts (for example, during winter ventilation) and excessively dry air – its leaves turn brown. Therefore, the plant should be sprinkled or placed on a stand filled with expanded clay and water.
